    Business Development Director Latin America

    I oversaw business development for the Value Added Media (VAM) vertical and partner management. This involved leveraging relationships within entertainment and media industries to identify potential clients and partners. I led regional distribution channels with new and current partners, such as mobile phone carrier Claro Chile, as well. • Negotiated and secured content rights agreements with Turner Broadcasting and Bloomberg News. • Managed a partnership with Claro Chile.

    Rhapsody International (Napster)

    VP and General Manager of Brazil and Latin America

    I introduced Napster’s Rhapsody brand to South America through partnership with Telefonica and built the organization from ground up. This involved launching Napster in 13 countries direct-to-consumer (D2C) with local partners, and in 11 countries in partnership with Vivo/Movistar (TEF Group). I managed day-to-day operations and recruited and hired 20-person team and established local presence with offices in Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. I selected vendors for outsourced functions and devised multi-country go-to-market (GTM) plans that included focus on local content and local flavor. Served as spokesperson with the press. • Obtained partnerships in Brazil that included Corinthians Football Club and Transamerica Radio, as well as other partnerships around Latin America. • Secured content rights from music publishers, independent labels, and major companies that included Sony, Warner, and Universal. • And reached significant number of paid subscribers and 8-figures in revenue.

    Business Unit Director - Sonora Streaming Music

    At Terra, I spearheaded Latin America’s pioneering streaming service, inaugurated service in four countries, and managed a total of six. My position owned the business model, product roadmap, and P&L. I managed a Brazilian team of more than 15 and collaborated on sales and strategy in five additional countries. Negotiated agreements on content rights with music industry. • Fast Company Magazine Most Innovative Company, 2011. • Ranked in Top 5 worldwide in music for streaming and downloads. • Reached 500K paying subscribers and 3M free users, for total annual revenue of €25M. • Launched important Advertising Special Projects in the region; new Citroen C3 owners received free one-year subscriptions to Sonora through our partnership, for example.

    Innovation Director – Latin America

    I established the company’s Innovation Area to devise ways to view Terra’s content on the growing number of Smart TV’s. We reached agreements with major consumer electronics firms to expand Terra’s portal content to other connected devices, fulfilling the multi-screen “anywhere” concept of content consumption. • Launched Terra News and Terra TV with Samsung in Brazil as the first content app on a Smart TV. • Rolled-out the service to more than ten other consumer electronics companies in the region, including LG, Toshiba, Philips, and Sony and several countries in Latin America, Spain, and USA. • And formulated ad-supported content to monetize the project and create a new revenue stream.

    Director of the Internet Competence Center

    In this position at Terra, I led Internet strategy development worldwide for their Telefonica Group. In this role, I collaborated with all TEF companies on their product development to combine efforts and identify synergies. • Led international development team with members from the United Kingdom, Spain, and Brazil. • Launched the Terra TV Terra platform of free, ad-supported curated video content in Spain. • Headed Telefonica Group’s Global Advertising Project. • Reported to TEF Competence Center leadership in TEF’s corporate office in Spain and UK.

    Marketing Superintendent

    Accountable for all marketing activities for Telefonica’s broadband and narrowband products in São Paulo. Managed a team of 35+ people. • Achieved an important milestone of 1.6M Broadband customers by end of 2007. • Creation of new products and maintenance of existing portfolio. • Managed the Advantage Program for Speedy clients – not easily replicable discounts and partnerships.
