Dear Recruiters, I am a writer, producer and director with over 16 years of experience creating long and short form narrative content, with a particular focus on comedy. As such, I am uniquely positioned to manage and oversee scripted development and programming for a production company, studio or network. I’ve worked closely with producers, other writers and executives over the years to develop TV series and feature films, write coverage and give development notes. My work has been profiled in Variety, The Huffington Post, The Hollywood Reporter, AVClub and many others. I was called “super talented” (PopSugar), “zany and witty” (Tubefilter) and a talent with “moxie and conviction (The LA Times). My most recent series, The Room Actors: Where Are They Now? launched in partnership with Funny or Die, premiered on FOD’s Amazon Prime channel and screened at dozens of prestigious film festivals around the world. Prior to that, I created a TV series with Oscar-winning producers, Rocklin/Faust, developed the narrative content for BehaVR, a virtual reality health care company and optioned numerous feature films. As a writer, I’ve won The Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award, the Harmony Gold Award, the Jack Nicholson Prize and was nominated for a Humanitas Screenwriting Award – among many others. I’ve placed as a finalist at the Austin Film Festival, Page Screenwriting Awards and Scriptapalooza. I’m excellent with story and character development and am a sought-after script consultant who works primarily via word-of-mouth. I have an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and a BA from Duke University. Before launching a career in entertainment, I was a healthcare consultant in Washington, DC for The Advisory Board Company, where I managed a team of 7 direct reports by age 24. Robyn Paris is an award-winning filmmaker and UCLA MFA Screenwriting graduate. Her 8-episode series, “The Room Actors: Where Are They Now? (TRAWATN),” which she created/directed/produced and starred in, launched online in partnership with Funny or Die (FOD) and premiered on FOD’s Amazon Prime channel. The series (which totals 62 minutes in length) screened at Raindance, Hollyshorts, ITVFest and Chicago Comedy FF where Robyn won “Best Director.” TRAWATN also won “Best Ensemble Cast,” “Best Web Series,” and received three ISA nominations in 2018. Robyn directed Emmy-winner Patrika Darbo, Emmy-nominee Mindy Sterling & SAG-award winner Keith Powell, among other well-known actors in the series.

While a graduate student at UCLA, Robyn won the prestigious Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award for her feature-length drama, Odd Man Outabout a family raising a schizophrenic son. Robyn has optioned features to Oscar-winning producers, written projects for Disney and Warner Brothers and consulted/developed on numerous television and film projects.  In additional to the Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award, Robyn won the Harmony Gold Award, Jack Nicholson Screenwriting Award, Oliver’s Prize and was nominated for a Humanitas Prize in Screenwriting. She holds a BA in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.

Before her career in entertainment, Robyn was a Washington, DC-based healthcare management consultant who oversaw a team of 7 people by the age of 24.
