About raqueldb

Dear Human Resources, Thank you for your time allowing me to apply for your position. I have been fortunate to hone my skills from a design intern and climb and build upon them to an Art Director not missing a step in between. Recently, I added to my skills by completing an intensive UX design program at NYU to stay fresh and current on design trends of the future. Being able to work in all capacities and creative job titles allowed me to not only continue to grow but become a well rounded designer, thinker, teacher and leader who would like to put my skills and background to work for you.   Design for me is a big part of who I am personally. I can talk to someone about the Futurists or Bauhaus periods as well as why some designers love Helvetica and others hate it. I can also give my opinion on why this layout needs to have particular functions closer together for the end user’s experience or why I chose that color and typography for a branding project.   I enjoy working in sprints or on several projects as opposed to just one project at a time. I’m motivated by seeing a project from start to finish. I want to get to the final step where your ideas become full fledged working experiences or products. Nothing can surprise me anymore because design is like society, its always changing and you need to be able to pivot or adapt with it.   A few of my efforts in collaboration that led to significant achievements for some of the companies I’ve worked for.
  • Designed and conceived numerous digital ad campaigns that doubled website traffic and increased ROI
  • Completed a full re-design of the New Jersey Symphony’s website launched in 2018
  • Created the first measured AR (Augmented Realty) campaign to drive brand awareness at the NJSO
  • Played an integral role on production and design for 2 All-Star games
  • Created initial print concepts through production for original television programming for the LOGO channel
  • Conceived a successful real estate rental app for iPhone before Airbnb was on the scene
  • Produced over 200 pieces of collateral for print and digital in one season at the NJSO
  • Implemented and managed an internal design department for an indie record label with a Million+ budget
  • Designed and worked on several motion picture ad campaigns for Miramax Films that broke millions in revenue
  • Designed or art directed hundreds of CD covers some award winning
  • Significantly decreased my annual design budgets with cost saving negotiations and my knowledge of print production and how size, colors, papers, and printing techniques work for your bottom-line budget
