Mark Strigl is a television producer/writer/editor, musician, podcaster, father and husband. He has studied and followed hard rock music for over 30 years. He founded Talking Metal in 2005.
Mark’s long-form TV production work has included: MTV’s It Came from The 80’S Pt2: Metal Goes Pop, VH1’s 8 Track Flashback, VH1’s Legends, VH1’s 100 Greatest Countdown shows, VH1’s Divas 2001, and “Barbie Theater” segments for The Rosie O’Donnell show (where he was part of an Emmy Award winning team). He has produced promos for filmmakers Steven Spielberg and M Night Shyamalan. He is a skilled interviewer and has personally conducted one-on-one interviews with Jessica Alba, Sean Penn, Peter Krause, Zooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming, Neal McDonough, Juliana Margulies, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Paul Giamatti, Nikki Sixx, Bryce Dallas Howard, Greg Allman, Radha Mitchell, Rob Halford and Grace Park. Mark hosts his own podcast shows and has been featured in front of the camera on VH1 and MTV2. He was the on-air host and executive producer for the 2008 TV series “Talking Metal on Fuse.” From 2004 to 2010 Mark was a Senior Writer Producer for the marketing department at SyFy (part of NBC Universal). He worked on various shows including Battlestar Galactica, Ghost Hunters, Warehouse 13, Eureka and Caprica.
Mark is currently a freelance Producer/Director/Writer in the television business working for such clients as WeTV, IFC, USA Network, Notional, Broadway Video, Syfy, Chiller, Cloo FYI, A&E, FYI and VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show.
Mark has released numerous CDs under the name “Captain T.” He has performed with such bands as Ronin and Hollywood Superstars. He hosts his own podcasts and runs the Talking Metal Digital podcasting network.
