I have a deep understanding of directing a design department. I can conceive, pitch and sell scalable concepts that can translate into various incarnations including broadcast, streaming, web, apps, social, outdoor and print. I have overseen design and productions and am fully verse with graphics as well as set design and props.

I have worked alongside clients, creative directors, designers, producers, writers, directors, editors, marketing, sales, post production and other stakeholders. I have led and managed both internal and external teams and delivered on time and on budget.

Recently at ESL Gaming, I worked in the fast paced world of professional video gaming or eSports space. In this new media I learned streaming distribution, app development, UI and UX design. I also scheduled staff and freelancers, ordered supplies, made sure design equipment (i.e. hardware and software) was up to date, managed the team of 20, worked with vendors including graphic design firms, set designers, prop houses and printers.

I’m Royston Crabaugh a Creative Director. I have many years’ experience working for NBCUniversal as a Senior Designer at Artworks, the network’s in-house agency in NYC. In 2016 I relocated to Los Angeles and have continued my creative design career with Disney/ABC, CBS and ESL Gaming an eSports (Professional Video Gaming) production company as Art Director of Sets and Graphic Design. I also have an MBA and understand the business side of media.     Design and execute digital promos for Star Trek Discovery Season 2, driving viewership to CBS All Access. Design Star Trek Universe logo for CBS Global Consumer Good to engage partnerships and represent the entire franchise to licensees. Designed presentation for partnership meeting to onboard new licensee into the franchise. Design Star Trek franchise social media graphics engaging over 20 million followers. Designed Broadcast Graphics package for ABC On The Red Carpet Oscar Show allowing producers a range of graphic options for various segments and fashion viewing. Design and produce cross platform design from TV programming to web, mobile and tablet 
distribution to engage audience. Work with creative directors (Marketing, Consumer Product, Social Media and Website) to ensure design consistency for multi-platform scaling. Work closely with marketing to design syndicated promotion for on-air and digital formats. Design title treatments for various digital properties.

    Art Director Graphics & Set Design

    Oversee Marketing, Graphics & Branding, Production/Set Design, App UI Design, Merchandising and Social Media combined into 360 campaigns ensuring brand awareness and tune-in viewership. Manage internal and freelance creative teams including designers, artists, producers, editors, audio, video and support staff working with various internal departments to ensure asset deliverables. Work with VP to plan appropriate budgets quarterly and annually to keep art department running smoothly. Track spending, forecast and itemize department budget for finance department. Represent art department to clients by working closely with the game publishers and developers. Set short, medium and long range strategy for art department in lines with corporate strategies. Lead art department staff by vetting, hiring and on boarding and training new hires. Traffic and assign all workflow to various individuals and tracking progress of multiple project simultaneously. Mange and maintain relationships with staffing agencies, freelancers and various vendors building out department contacts and network.
