I am writing to voice my interest in the Editorial Director position with ChefSteps. Given my digital content creation, editorial and instructional design, and culinary specific background, I believe I am an ideal candidate for this position.

My magazine editor experience has made me deadline driven, obsessed with the minutiae of text, and a lover of well-crafted words. My instructional design work has allowed me to blend storytelling with learning, helping people absorb information in beautiful and painless ways. Managing multiple projects, working in tandem with peers and subject matter experts, in a fast paced environment, is invigorating and satisfying. I also recently completed a Master’s certificate in strategic communication and innovation, furthering my writing, editing, digital and social media creation, podcasting ability, and overall communication proficiencies.

I am adept at talking to and working with diverse groups, taking constructive criticism in stride, and shifting focus as priorities change. I am an experienced project manager and a quick learner, and I excel equally working collaboratively and independently. My whole career has provided experience writing in different voices, for different platforms, to best serve specific target audiences, and I know how to help people learn new things effectively. I enjoy running photo and video shoots, providing artistic direction and feedback, all while keep my team organized, caffeinated, and running on time. 

I believe a positive attitude makes every day better and working smarter, not harder, is always the way to go (thank you to culinary school for that advice! ) Also,”if you have time to lean you have time to clean” which goes for everyone, regardless of title and pay grade.
