Kathi Palminteri has been a driving force behind some of the most iconic global consumer brands. At the foundation of her executive leadership success is her understanding of the consumer. Her award-winning work is a clear reflection of her passion for lifestyle, consumer, and media brands that inspire Gen X, millennial, Gen Z, multicultural, and lifestyle- driven segments.

After being recruited in 2012 to join Viacom as the Vice President of Consumer Marketing for MTV2, Kathi rapidly advanced, ultimately become the Group Vice President of Brand Marketing & Event Marketing for five Viacom brands: MTV, VH1, CMT, LOGO, and MTV2. Her leadership was pivotal in turning around these classic brands following five years of decline and expanding into new and younger audiences. During her tenure, Kathi was part of a marketing organization that helped drive a 13-fold increase in consumer volume in the midst of rapid industry disruption and shifts in consumer buying behaviors.

Among Kathi’s strengths is her ability to identify and spearhead marketing campaigns that stretch creativity and engagement beyond previously accepted levels. After gaining C-level buy-in, she secured sponsorships and led activations for high-profile events like MTV Spring Break, 2020 elections, World Pride NYC, SXSW, and Aspen Gay Ski Week. The result has been numerous team honors, including Cannes, CLIO, Webby, Shorty, ADC, and Adweek Awards.

Previously, Kathi was a major contributor to a strategy that rebranded Court TV as truTV and positioned the network as a top-10 global brand within key demographics. She led her team in creating marketing campaigns that grew digital metrics (uniques, page views, video views) for 18 consecutive months.

Kathi is a member of The Television Academy and Adweek Corporate. As a former student at Long Island University, she completed four years of communications studies. She is also a graduate of Viacom’s Cohort VP Executive Program as well as Viacom’s Executive Coaching Program led by Proteus International. Kathi is a former mentor for the ViacomCBS Mentoring Program and a former member of the ViacomCBS Emerge (LGBTQ) Employee Resource Group.
