Summary

Jack Herrguth is a creative executive and producer in both traditional and digital media.  He worked on multiple seasons of the Emmy-award winning television shows Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother during his time in alternative development at CBS. He turned his passion for comedy into a successful 8 year run at Comedy Central, where he developed several pilots and scripts, and oversaw development and production on the critically-acclaimed series Nathan For You, starring Nathan Fielder.  During this time he also partnered on the development of @midnight and Workaholics and developed projects with such luminaries as Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Chris Hardwick (Talking Dead), Jenny Slate (Parks & Rec, SNL), Jonah Ray (The Meltdown with Jonah & Kumail), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), and award-winning director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island, Kings of Summer). 

 

On the digital side, he served as Head of Development at Nerdist, helping grow Chris Hardwick’s digital empire into a multi-faceted production company, producing the comedy special Sleight of Mouth with Justin Willman for Comedy Central, developed television shows with Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Rose McGowan (Charmed), Peter Atencio (Last Man on Earth; Key &Peele), and sold TV projects to AMC, Syfy and FX.  He was also instrumental in developing and producing videos for the Nerdist YouTube channel and website that resulted in several millions of views.

 

He served as Vice-President of Development for the celebrated digital comedy portal and production company, JASH, working alongside comedy stars Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim &Eric and Reggie Watts, developing and producing content, including a pilot for Microsoft and Xbox. Most recently, he worked at Defy Media where he was instrumental in launching an SVOD platform for the popular Emmy-winning YouTube channel, ScreenJunkies.  He developed several Screen Junkies projects including a pilot for TruTV, the popular digital series Pitch off with Doug Benson, and Screen Junkies very first feature-length film, “Galaxy Quest: A Screen Junkies Documentary“, featuring Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver, slated to premiere in 2018.

 

Jack is currently consulting for leading entertainment companies and developing TV and digital projects through his company Robots & Lasers.  Projects include the half-hour comedy Killing It with Executive Producer Paul Feig and writers Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break) and Barry Schwartz (Baywatch); and The Bunker, a comedy with comedian Patton Oswalt and writer Matt Oswalt.

 

He also consults for the Emmy-Award winning animation studio, Mindshow, executive produces the podcast, Never Surrender for leading podcast companies Western Sound and Acast, and produces the live comedy show Setflix, on Twitch. He is a board member and volunteer of the Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center in Santa Monica, CA and is the 2013 recipient of their Gilda Radner Award.  He and his family are also volunteers for PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in Hollywood.
