Summary

Accomplished TV news professional moving into wider role in media and strategic communications. My latest work includes the videos below that I produced for the Indiana Historical Society’s Living Legends Gala, which recently honored Peyton Manning, Dan & Beth Elsener and Angela Ahrendts. I’ve spent most of my career covering newsmakers and events. I’m now focused on connecting with leaders in the community to achieve their organizational objectives. Contact me at brucekopp@outlook.com. Building strong relationships through project management, community relations, media relations and social media has been key to advancing the goals of successful organizations. My well-rounded experience in covering stories that impact our community, connecting with higher education, government, non-profits, hospitals, law-enforcement and other sectors has resulted in powerful stories that showcase the strengths and benefits of local business, organizations and educational institutions.

My 25 years on the top-rated morning TV news broadcast in Indianapolis has established a familiarity with key members of the community and quick access to expedite ideas and programs. My experience covering major events, which includes national political conventions, Final Fours, Super Bowls and other large media events has provided strategic insight in making connections and achieving communication results. Telling stories with video, the written word and social media results in mutually beneficial ventures and partnerships.

I’ve won top journalism awards from the Associated Press, UPI and Society of Professional Journalists and supported a wide range of public service organizations and community groups over the years, along with hosting major events and fundraising efforts. I’ve served as an instructor at the Indiana University Media School teaching Broadcast News.
